Burkina Faso : Qair Inaugurates a 24 MW Solar Power Plant in Zano

Qair, a leading independent renewable energy company, announces the inauguration of a 24 MW photovoltaic solar power plant in Zano, located in the Center-East region of Burkina Faso. The project, a collaborative effort between the public and private sectors, underscores the transformative impact of partnerships in driving sustainable development. With a capacity to inject 38 GWh annually into the National Electricity Company (SONABEL) network, the solar power plant will play a pivotal role in meeting the energy needs of approximately 19,000 households, businesses, and industries in Burkina Faso.

Key Highlights of the Project:

The solar plant is expected to cover the consumption equivalent of approximately 19,000 households, businesses, and industries.

With an estimated reduction of over 19,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, the project contributes significantly to environmental sustainability and climate action.

The construction of a 600-meter evacuation line, equipped with associated infrastructure, connected to the 132/33 kV Zano substation ensures efficient integration into the national grid.
